Veteran Nollywood actor Patrick Doyle has criticized popular Nigerian singer Davido over his choice of attire during his visit to Olu of Warri, Delta State.
TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) earlier reported that Nigerian singers Davido, Fino and others visited the palace of Olu King Ogiam Atuwatse III of Warri on Saturday.
The artistes were in Warri to take part in the very “Warri Again” event organized by former Nigeria Football Federation President, Amaju Pinnick, along with popular veteran comedian, AY Makun and well-known bartender, Father Kubana.
Photos from the visit shared online showed the Feel crooner wearing a white polo shirt and brown shorts.
Reacting, Mr Doyle from Itukiri in Delta State, through his verified Facebook page, questioned whether Davido’s attire was appropriate for his audience with the King.
He captioned the photo: “Is this attire appropriate for visiting a king’s palace like the Oru of Wari?”
Meanwhile, while speaking at Oru’s palace, Davido revealed that contrary to what many people think, he comes from a respectable family.
According to the singer, occasionally committing petty crimes as a celebrity does not mean that he did not have a proper education.
He said, “I was raised by great parents. I come from a very polite family, but as an OBO (star) I sometimes act out of place.”
