The Chairman of Obio/Akpo Local Government Area of Rivers State, Chijoke Ifunwo, has advised President Bola Tinubu to be wary of Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike.
Chijoke Ifunwo has claimed that the former Rivers State governor wants to contest against President Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
Mr Ifunwo said this in a video posted on his X handle on Thursday, saying Mr Wike would deceive the President with the promise of staying with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for his own benefit.
He further asserted that President Tinubu would be given the same treatment that was given to former Governor Rotimi Amaechi, who brought Wike into politics.
“I want to tell Nigerians that Mr. Wike plans to run for president in 2027. Therefore, the president should be wary of Mr. Wike.
“His plan is one, he will tell the president that I want to remain in the PDP and please leave the structure to me. Then he will follow up on how to succeed the president. He did that to Amechi, so his lifestyle allows him to do that to anyone.
“I therefore appeal to the President to exercise extreme caution against the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike,” Ifunwo said.
