Governor Okpeboro of Edo State on Monday appointed Dr. Cyril Oshiomhole as the next Commissioner of Health.
Naija News reported that Mr Okpebolo made the appointment on Tuesday, hours after he was sworn in as the sixth governor of Edo State.
Mr Oshiomhole’s nomination requires approval by the Edo State House of Assembly.
Who is Cyril Oshiomole?
Cyril Adams Oshiomhole’s academic journey began at St. Ann’s Primary School and continued to Command Secondary School. He then pursued higher education at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, where he obtained a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) degree.
Oshiomhole attended the Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana. There he earned a Master of Science in Public Health (MSPH, specializing in Environmental Health, Toxicology, and Disaster Management).
His academic pursuits continued at Harvard University in Boston, where he received postgraduate training in clinical research and then at Queen Mary University of London, where he studied gastroenterology.
He is the son of Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole, a former Edo State governor and senator representing Edo North.
