Controversial Nigerian cross-dresser Bobrisky has reportedly been detained in a female cell at the Forced Criminal Investigation Department Annex in Alagbon, Lagos State.
TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reported that the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) on Tuesday transferred Mr. Bobrisky from custody to the Forced Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) in Alagbon, Lagos State.
A source close to the police facility, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the trans woman spent the night in a women’s cell because of her controversial lifestyle and because there were no other female detainees at the time of her detention.
“Bobrisky was taken to the FCID in Alagbon around 10pm on Monday,” the source said. Immigration authorities arrested him at the Seme border and took him for safekeeping. He is being held at the FCID in Alagbon. He was arrested on Sunday, detained overnight and taken to the FCID in Alagbon.
“There are a lot of cells in Alagbon and when we come across incidents like this, we have to look for a suitable place that guarantees the safety and security of the detainees.
“Everyone is aware of the fact that Bobrisky could be gay, and no one wants to be part of a scandal. If you put him among men, anything can happen, but inside women… So they gave him a cell, and that cell was around the women’s section, and there were no female prisoners around that cell.”
TNG has learned that FCID officials are awaiting further instructions as Mr Okuneye was arrested by the NIS as he attempted to leave the country through the Seme border and was taken to the Alagbon annex for safekeeping.
The official said Mr Okune’s attempt to leave the country through the Seme border showed he knew security agencies were after him.
“According to the information we have gathered, it appears that he was trying to flee the country, but perhaps he is on the blacklist and going to the Seme border means they are looking for him. We also think that he may be aware of it,” the source said. Said.
