Peter Obi, a former presidential candidate of the Labor Party, says he went to Ondo State to campaign for the party’s gubernatorial candidate, Sola Ebiseni, because of his dedication to democracy.
Mr. Peter Obi has said that Labor’s gubernatorial candidate, Mr. Sola Ebiseni, has the requisite ability and capacity to govern Ondo State effectively.
Obi stated this on his X handle on Tuesday morning. He explained that through his interactions with Ebiseni, who was the secretary of the apex Yoruba socio-cultural organization Afenifere, he believed that the candidate would govern with fairness, equity and justice.
He appealed to voters in Ondo to oppose transactional politics that has led to widespread misgovernment.
The former governor of Anambra State added that he believed that committed and competent leadership would turn the situation around in the country.
“Despite the myriad challenges plaguing our electoral system and the disturbing criticisms that have overshadowed recent elections at all levels, I remain steadfast in my commitment to Nigeria’s democracy. .
“It is this belief that motivated me to travel overland to Ondo State yesterday to campaign with Labor’s gubernatorial candidate, Mr John Johnson. Sola Ebiseni — Candidates lead the nation I believe that we have the ability and ability to govern effectively.
“Through my interactions with him and his role as Chief Afenifere, I have come to see him as someone who believes in a Nigeria rooted in fairness, equity and justice. We urge you to vote against the transactional politics that have brought out the worst in you and led to widespread misgovernment.
“Despite the current challenges, I remain hopeful that committed and capable leadership can and will turn the situation around,” Obi wrote.
