Former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Uche Secondus, has said Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike is the biggest threat to Nigeria’s democracy.
Secondus argued that Wike’s unchecked excesses could truncate the country’s democracy.
He said this while reacting to the Rivers State local government elections held last Saturday.
In a statement, Secondus warned the federal government that those under its protection are seeking to undermine the country’s democracy and must be closely monitored.
“It is only in this country under the watchful eye of political parties like APC that one person can become a member of two political parties and use them to cause trouble to the society,” he said.
He advised President Bola Tinubu to get to know Wike for who he really is. “An unruly bull in a Chinese store, ready and willing to drag down everything in the store to quell his raging appetite.”
He reminded the Federal Government of the strategic importance of Rivers State, which houses important assets of the country.
He argued that all indicators of democratic failure were already present in Nigeria and the federal government should be careful in dealing with anti-democratic operatives like Wike.
