Former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose has submitted an opinion that there can be no reconciliation between Rivers State Governor Siminalai Hubala and the Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike.
Fayose made the submission while reacting to the political feud between the governor and his predecessor.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics program, Mr Fayose said the situation between Mr Wike and Mr Hubala was unfortunate, but maintained that the issue had gone too far for reconciliation between the two parties.
“This crisis is unfortunate, very, very unfortunate.
“I think this issue has crossed the Rubicon,” he said.
Fayose raised hopes that the conflict between the Rivers State Governor and the FCT Minister may be due to breach of trust.
“We have come a long way. Even if we want to resolve this issue of breach of trust, where should we place the trust? I would rather believe that it is too early to seek reconciliation.”
Meanwhile, Fayose also said during the program that the crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is embarrassing.
He said suspensions and counter-suspensions by various factions of the PDP at the national leadership level had brought the party to a new low.
The former governor said only miraculous divine intervention can unite the party again.
