The lawmaker representing Ideato North-South Federal Constituency in Imo State, Ikenga Ugochinyere, on Friday accused the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, of destabilizing the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
According to him, Wike remained in the PDP while working with the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The lawmaker, however, added that despite the former Rivers State governor’s antics, Mr. Wike is not the main problem with the PDP, but the inability of party leaders to stand up to Mr. Wike.
Speaking on Channels TV, Mr Ugotinyere said party leaders had not demonstrated that they had the confidence and ability to stop Mr Wike’s kindergarten politics.
“The fate of the PDP and the role he (Mr Wike) is playing in advocating for him to stay in the APC and do the work of the APC and ensure that the leadership of the party stays shows that he just wants to destroy the PDP. “It shows the facts,” he said. .
“He is not the problem with the PDP. What I am blaming is some governors and PDP leaders who were not man enough to stand up to stop this kindergarten politics.
The lawmaker also said that the PDP Acting National Chairman, Umaru Damagumu, and the party’s National Secretary, Samuel Anyanwu, are working for the APC and are fighting unnecessary battles to retain their jobs. he accused.
“I don’t understand why there are national committee chairs and party secretaries who seem to be in collusion with the ruling government. The people seem to be satisfied with that and are filing lawsuits in court to maintain the government.” he said. Added.
