The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State, Alhaji Nii Adams, has said that unless the party develops discipline, the 2027 elections will be a defeat for the candidates.
Née Adams said the party must not only move toward reconciliation between anxious factions, but also set boundaries that members cannot cross.
A former youth leader of the PDP in Lagos has accused some members of the party of believing that anti-party activities should be the norm.
“Some believe that anti-party activities should be the norm, but to brighten the prospects of PDP in 2027, the party leadership should not tolerate it any more.
“I don’t hate reconciliation, but I just hate reconciliation without setting boundaries. If we don’t set boundaries, it will happen again.
“We have since reconciled, but we cannot continue to do the same thing and expect different results.
Either we get it right by adjusting and strengthening party discipline or we will all see the impact and consequences in 2027,” Adams told reporters in Lagos.
The former campaign strategy director and 2023 PDP gubernatorial candidate in Lagos State said victory would come to the party in 2027 if it showed discipline.
“The reason why people continue to participate in anti-party activities and continue to increase in number is because there has been no border enforcement.
“That’s the big problem. Once discipline is established, we’ll be fine in 2027,” he added.
