Nigerian singer Kingsley Chinweke Okonkwo, popularly known as KCee, and his colleague Chinedu Okoli, popularly known as Flavor, are at loggerheads over some questionable posts made by the latter recently.

The trouble began shortly after KCee announced the release of their new song “Netfliss” and shared a snippet of the music video, when Flavor criticized her colleagues via her official X page, calling them copycats.

Some social media users seem to think there are similarities between the newly released song and Flavor’s hit song featuring Fino, Doings.

Flavor did not mention his name in the tweet, but KCee, who felt that this post was a shade to him, also used his own X page a few days after Flavor’s post. and fired a gun.

In a series of posts through his page, Kcee clarified that Flavor is not an administrator and should stop being the gatekeeper of Igbo culture.

He added that he would continue to celebrate Igbo culture unapologetically and advised the “Ashewo” singer to spend his energy on success because Igbo culture is not on the same level.

He also advised his colleagues to choose their battles well and stressed that he will continue to make music that celebrates his heritage.

he wrote: we are not on the same level. Choose your battles carefully. Flavor needs to stop being the gatekeeper of Igbo culture because he is not the custodian of it. He went on to say he was in the game before his colleagues and makes no apologies for making music that celebrates his heritage.

“People record authenticity. I will continue to celebrate our culture unapologetically. Spend your energy on success, not detract from it.”
