Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike has said that some leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are trying to oust him rather than focus on resolving the crisis facing the party. He claimed to be working hard.
He also added that many of the PDP leaders were obsessed with their personal ambitions instead of focusing on how to develop the party as a whole.
The former Rivers State governor maintained that lack of focus was the major problem of the PDP, which had kept the party embroiled in various challenges.
But he warned that he could not be defeated, adding that ultimately those who opposed him would be defeated.
Wike made this observation during an interview with the press on Wednesday.
“The problem is not PDP’s inability to get its act together, it is personal ambition, this attitude that Wike has to be brought down.
“And all attempts to bring down Wyke are going to be wrong. It’s about bringing down Wyke, and Wyke doesn’t go down, so you’re not focused. Rather, it’s you who goes down. ” he said.
Meanwhile, San State human rights lawyer Femi Falana has criticized Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike over gifting houses and cars to judges.
Naija News recalls that Wike in October halted the design and construction of 40 judges’ quarters in the Katanpe area of the capital, Abuja, in a controversial move that many claimed was unethical. are.
In an interview with Channels Television’s Politics Today on Wednesday, Falana argued that it is wrong for executive authorities to give gifts to judicial authorities, especially judges.
That is why judicial autonomy was constitutionalized, Falana said, stressing that judges do not have to go to the executive branch to buy cars or houses.
He argued that the Constitution gives the judiciary fiscal autonomy and gives it the power to control the budget.
