The Edo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has said allegations that it vandalized the party secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are baseless.
Naija News reports that thugs allegedly led by Tony Adun’s younger brother Kapuepwe, popularly known as Tony Kabaka, invaded the Edo State Secretariat of the PDP on Thursday and destroyed properties worth millions of naira. Ta.
The attackers, said to be affiliated with the All Progressives Congress (APC), vandalized doors, windows and office equipment at the PDP secretariat. Several electronic devices, computers and other valuables were taken away during the break-in.
Witnesses reported that the thugs appeared to be on a mission to ransack the building and attack those inside.
Reacting to the incident, the Publicity Secretary of the Edo PDP Caretaker Committee, Mr. Chris Osa Nehikare, condemned the attack, describing it as a desperate and reckless attempt to intimidate the PDP.
He called on security agencies to investigate the incident and ensure those responsible are brought to justice, warning against further attempts to destabilize the PDP in Edo State.
Reacting to the accusation, the APC Publicity Secretary, Mr. Peter Uwadeye Igbiniji, in an interview with Punch said it was absurd to label those who allegedly attacked the PDP office as APC thugs; He said he wondered if the thugs were wearing APC uniforms.
Uwadeye-Igbinigyi urged the PDP to resolve its internal issues and warned it against drawing the APC into their sticky issues.
The APC chief on Monday added that the Okpebuhole government has already embarked on projects that the PDP government failed to implement to put the state in the right role.
He said, “How can the PDP say that the thugs who attacked the party secretariat belong to the APC?” Did the people have anything to show that they were APC members? This claim is baseless and without evidence.
“Due to the serious and criminal nature of this allegation, PDP must ensure that it has evidence before making the allegation. I request you not to get involved.
“The APC government in the state has already undertaken projects that the PDP could not implement. These are projects that will improve the lives of the people.”
