This was contained in a statement by the Director-General of Information and Public Relations, Ministry of Defence, Mr. Henshaw Ogbikei, in Abuja on Saturday.
Amaechi is said to have called on Nigerian youths to rise up against the anti-people government’s policies.
Reacting, Mr Matawalle condemned Mr Amaechi’s call in the strongest terms.
He warned the former minister to refrain from making inflammatory statements that threaten the peace and stability of the country.
He also accused the former minister of inciting violence and insecurity among Nigerians.
Mr Matawalle also expressed deep concern about the dangers posed by such rhetoric.
“It is reckless and irresponsible for a former civil servant in the same position as Mr. Amaechi to incite Nigerians against their government.
“President Bola Tinubu has been working tirelessly and successfully to address the challenges facing the country through various reforms.
“It is absurd, ridiculous and shameful for anyone to exploit the true situation of our people for selfish political gain,” he said.
The minister further reiterated Tinubu’s determination to protect the peace and security of all Nigerians, warning that any attempt to destabilize the country through incitement will not be tolerated.
“We will not allow anyone to incite violence or manipulate the general situation of our people.”
Mr Matawalle also warned the former minister not to criticize the government’s true intentions towards the people.
“Mr Amaechi is expected to work with the government to move the country forward, rather than choosing to ignore short-sighted claims,” he added.
