Hurricane Milton made landfall near Siesta Key, Florida on Wednesday, October 9, bringing powerful storm surge, torrential rain, and ferocious winds. A powerful Category 3 storm is pounding some communities still reeling from the devastation of Hurricane Helen less than two weeks ago.
When the storm passes, we will respond with the local church in Jesus name.
Hurricane relief to resume soon in Florida
To ensure the safety of our volunteers and staff, Samaritan’s Purse has suspended all operations at our Helen Relief locations in Perry and Tampa/St. Louis. Petersburg, Florida. Work is expected to resume later this week.
Shortly after Helen hit Florida’s Big Bend area in late September, Samaritan’s Purse sent two disaster relief units to the Sunshine State. Since then, teams of volunteers have been serving affected homeowners by clearing scattered debris, cutting down fallen trees, and covering damaged roofs with tarps, all while sharing the love of Jesus Christ. I continue to do so.
Please join us in praying for those in the path of Hurricane Milton. May God grant peace and security to those enduring this latest storm.
