The 2024-2025 program for Carnegie Hall’s Weill Institute of Music has been announced.
The Weill Music Institute offers more than 15 initiatives that provide opportunities for students, educators, and audiences of all ages to explore music and the arts. Most programs are low cost or free to participants. The 2024-25 season will be held from October to May.
A masterclass led by Joyce DiDonato and co-pianists Joel Harder and Justina Lee will kick off the season. Soprano Bridget Essler, mezzo-soprano Michelle Mariposa, tenor Ben Reisinger, and bassist Robert Ellsworth Fenn will be participating.
Throughout the season, family programs will be held including a series of well-being concerts, Musical Explorers events for K-2 students and educators, K-12 music workshops, and the Lullaby Project. For aspiring young professional artists, the Weill Music Institute offers several workshops, master classes, and fellowships.
This year’s In the Justice System social impact program features the men of Sing Sing Correctional Facility working with visiting artists to compose and perform original music through workshops and performances. Musical Connection” is featured. The Future Music Project encourages 14- to 19-year-old musicians in juvenile justice settings to create, perform, and produce their own original music.
