The presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has chosen to remain silent on the internal crisis currently affecting the party in Kano State.
Mr Kwankwaso refused to comment on the matter when contacted by reporters at his home in Mirror Road, Kano on Tuesday.
A leader of the Kwankwasiyya movement said: Don’t drag me into things I shouldn’t be involved in. The party chairman has spoken and continues to speak. Please contact him. ”
According to Daily Trust, tensions within the party have escalated, leading to the suspension of Secretary to State Government (SSG) Abdullahi Buffa Bichi and Transport Secretary Muhammad Digol.
Party chairman Hashim Sulaiman Dungrawa said the suspension was due to suspicions of contempt for the party, abuse of power and dishonesty.
The suspension came shortly after Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf led reconciliation efforts between the SSG and the constituency members.
SSG’s Bichi also distanced himself from the recent campaign to divide Governor Yusuf and Governor Kwankwaso, who operates under the slogan “Aba Tsaya da Cafalca”, which means “Aba, be self-reliant”. Ta.
