Esrabon Armado and Jafrica y Su Esencia arrived at the 2024 Billboard Latin Music Week on Tuesday (October 15) for the “All in the Family" panel presented by Walmart .
During the lively conversation, the two chart-topping Musica Mexicana artists were joined by their managers, who also happened to be family members. Eslabon was joined by his mother, Nerida Oseguera, and Jafrica was joined by his sister Adriana Martinez.
"We never thought we would have a (music) career, much less that my sister would be our manager,” Jafritza Martinez said during a panel discussion. “She always took care of us and guided us by the hand. She is like a mother to us.”
It was difficult for the older sister of the group to guide them professionally. Because they had no idea how the industry worked.
“We always separated work and family and established those boundaries from the beginning,” she said. “It was also very important to always instill the values that we grew up with. I didn’t have the experience, so I asked God to guide me. Our values come first. Then everything else takes priority.”
Like Jafrica y Su Esencia, Esrabon and his family (including his father and younger sisters) have close business ties.
Pedro Tovar, the group’s lead vocalist, said, “It’s a blessing to be together at events and concerts.” “I’m really thankful to God for that because not everyone has that. I get to see the same faces all the time, but it’s very satisfying.”
“I took on the role of manager because Pedro had a dream when he was 12 years old. From there, my husband and I decided to support him and be with him ” Oseguerra added. “He’s the one who said my parents were going to be managers, so it’s because of him that we’re here.”
After a heartfelt conversation, Jafrica y Su Esencia exclusively unveiled the trailer for her upcoming single “Y qué tal si te escapas del cielo”, dedicated to her late cousin.
