The Edo State Governor-elect, Okpeboro Transition Committee, on Monday warned the incumbent Governor, Godwin Obaseki, not to hide any information.
The committee issued the warning during the retirement of the Government Transition Committee and the inauguration of its incoming members in Benin City on Friday.
Former Deputy Governor Pius Odubu, who is the Chairman of the Transition Committee, said that the provision of documents containing the necessary and necessary information will enable the next administration to start in earnest.
He warned that the information hidden in the transition committee will definitely be revealed.
According to him, “The elections are over and we are ready to run the government. We have talented people, so please use all the information you have to help us. Please.
“There are several ways to get information, so stop trying to hide it. Your best bet is to let us have everything you have. Let’s take a look at them. This is a kind of briefing session to ensure that the next government is fully briefed and ready to get to work once it takes office.
“This work (the transition committee) has a deadline and we are asking for everyone’s great cooperation to get everything we need in the shortest possible time.
“Because we need to get them through, sensitize them and brief him so that the governor-elect can start his work in earnest as soon as he takes office.
“He needs to know what’s going on in the government before he takes office, and for that he needs information from you, documentaries, hard copies and soft copies when events occur.
“We want to ensure that this is completed within the stipulated time and we look forward to working collaboratively.
“You have informally told us that the documents will be ready early next week. By the time we have them, if we need more, we will let you know and call on you to provide them in a timely manner.”
