Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike has issued a stern warning to the opposition in Rivers State ahead of the 2023 general elections, stressing that electoral fraud will not be tolerated.
Addressing his supporters in Port Harcourt, Wike stressed the need for honesty and transparency in the upcoming elections and declared that the opposition must not underestimate his administration’s determination to maintain order. .
Wike warned that those opposed to him will not be allowed to commit election fraud in the Rivers State House of Assembly during the 2027 general elections.
Speaking in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Mr Wike warned against making such mistakes in the next general election.
Wike said, “It is unacceptable to shift the blame to others. We have seen APC and PDP, a rainbow coalition that shows what will happen in 2027.
“We don’t know what will happen in 2027, what will happen in this state in 2027. The LG election is not a general election.
“Do you think we will allow the results to be carried to the Prime Minister’s office and announced without scoring?”
“(Who) would allow you in a general election? That would be impossible. So don’t make that mistake. We have never stood in a local government election."
