Taipei Music Academy & Festival has announced that world-renowned violinist David Chan will be appointed artistic director for a three-year term in 2025.
A graduate of Harvard University and the Juilliard School, Chan is a prizewinner of numerous international competitions, including the Tchaikovsky Competition and the Indianapolis Competition. He currently serves as Concertmaster at the Metropolitan Opera, Professor at the Juilliard School, Director of the Orchestral Performance Program at the Manhattan School of Music, and Principal Conductor of the Apollo Orchestra.
“To me, TMAF is unique in the world of classical music festivals,” Chan said in a statement. “In addition to boasting an artistic and educational level that is second to none, we also offer the personal care and evident support of our music community.
