The deputy governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Ondo State governorship election, Mr. Olayde Adelami, has handed the party a landslide victory at the Owo polling station.
In Unit 16, Igboroko 2, Ward 03, located in Ahmadiyya Grammar School, Iselu, APC secured 209 votes, decisively beating the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) which received only 11 votes. The landslide victory further strengthened the APC’s stronghold in the region.
Mr. Adelami, who cast his vote at precisely 9:40 a.m., praised the peaceful and orderly conduct of the election at the polling station.
He expressed optimism about the party’s chances and attributed the party’s success to strong campaigning and strong grassroots support in all 18 local governments in the state.
“Our energetic campaign and the overwhelming support of our party gives us confidence that we will win this election,” Aderami said after voting.
With a total of 850 registered voters, the polling unit recorded strong support for the APC, reflecting what Mr Adelami described as a “clear mandate from the people”.
