2024 Spotify wrap data highlighted Chin Maddy’s outstanding musical talent. She was ranked number one of the most streaming female artists in both Nigeria and Ghana, and her hit song “American Love” secured the second streaming song in Uganda.

A frank conversation with Chin Maddy is as follows, and her reactions on music journey are as follows:
What is surprising that your fans may not know about you?
One of the surprising facts about me is to speak multiple languages. I speak English, Spanish, and Ibo fluently. As a result, you can connect with various audiences and blow the influence of your own culture into your music.
When did you realize that making music is in your destiny? And why do you pursue this technology?
I noticed that music was my own job when I was five years old. The reason I pursue music is based on a deep desire to have a positive impact on the world through my art and affect people’s lives. Music is a way to give me inspiration, raise, and connect with people at a deep level.
What are the African songs and artists you grew up?
I grew up listening to Kendrick Lamar’s genius lyrical poetry, and his artistic and storytelling affected my creative activities and how to work on music.
How do you explain the sound, tone, and style to those who have never heard of your music?
My music is a rich and alternative African sound that combines Afuro Soul, Afro R & B, and Afro Pop. It is deeply soulful and resonates with emotions, creating a connection that speaks to the mind and spirit.
Do you have any advice for those who are afraid of pursuing their dreams?
Create and record, and continue to share music on social media. This trip is not easy, but patience is the key. Above all, keep your religion and think about God first. Your dedication will finally open the door.
How do you navigate the music space as a female artist, and how does your own perspective form your artability?
As a female artist, I learned that it is necessary to work 100 times as much as a male artist in order to hear my voice. My unique perspective is reflected in my art. I have different ways of thinking and capture the world by forming my writing and music. My lyrics often incorporate metaphors and multiple meanings, so that listeners can explore deeper emotions and perspectives through my songs.
