Arabambi made his claim while appearing as a guest on Politics, a channel television program.
“Tinub isn’t just going to make it very easy in 2027. We’re back with Peter Obi, so they’ll know we’re very serious,” he said. claimed.
President Tinubu secured his mission by defeating Obi and former vice president Atiq Abubakar in the 2023 presidential election.
Official LP answer
In response to development, LP’s national propaganda secretary, Obiora Ifoh, in an interview with Punch, dismissed the Arab claims and emphasized that such a decision had not emanated from party leaders.
“No, the news is not from us and there are no camps. Our report on Presidential Tickets will be in line with the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Election Act (amended),” Ifoh said, I’ve said that.
He further emphasized that the party will follow legitimate procedures in selecting candidates for the next general election.
“We have made that clear before, but we are once again saying that anyone who wants to fly our flag must meet our requirements and the requirements of our election laws and constitution. So the party has not entered into a contract to provide automatic tickets to anyone,” he added.
This clarification shows that Labour will open its 2027 presidential ticket and leave the contest, indicating that all interested applicants must pass the party’s selection process.
