Nollywood actor Chidi Mokeme has opined that “Nigerians are their own government” as they mark 64 years of independence.
According to a report by TheNewsGuru.com (TNG), the filmmaker took to Instagram to share basic amenities such as safety, medical care, electricity, education, and welfare that the “ignorant” government has failed to provide to its citizens. It was reported that they blessed those who provided for themselves.
He writes: “I would like to thank all Nigerians who continue to voluntarily provide for their safety, medical care, electricity, light, education, welfare and food, even if it is 0-1-0, despite the ignorance of the government. Bless you. Be your own government.

“For light:
“I will prepare the transformer myself.”
“I will prepare the telephone pole myself.”
“I will prepare my own electric cable.”
“I have my own electricity meter
“And even though these items I have provided do not belong to me but to the government, I still have to pay for their upkeep.
On top of that, I still have to provide my own generator and purchase fuel and diesel to run it at ridiculous prices to power it.
“As for water,
“I will prepare a well myself.
“I will provide my own water pipes.”
“I have my own water tank.
“I have my own pump machine.
“And we still have to buy diesel at exorbitant prices to pump and supply our own water.
“For security:
“I will prepare the gate of my house
“I provide my own street gate
“I provide my own real estate gate
“I will send my own guards to all these gates.
“But still, in addition to all this, in the hands of God, we keep stray bullets out.
“For healthcare:
“Fake doctor
“Fake Nurse”
“placebo
“Fake everything
“And we’re still paying
“But prayer still doesn’t work, because the only thing we never finish with is God.
“What about education?
“Infra Rinko?
“Do you want to develop?
“Good governance?
“The magic of government. Whether I like them or not, I become my own government.
“I’m independent.”
