Hurricane Kirk forms in the Atlantic Ocean
This is the seventh hurricane of the season, but it has no impact on the United States.

I’m Karin Kaifa. WDSU’s First Alert Weather Forecast is already announcing the seventh hurricane of the season. It was Hurricane Kirk. Our next system may be forming at any moment. This might be named Leslie. In the event of a tropical cyclone. Right next to Kirk, we have a 40% chance of a storm, but while our focus is on the Gulf of Mexico, the storm still extends a little into the Caribbean Sea. But really, what I’m worried about is the next seven days when this system ends. And now we’re worried about possible fallout from computer forecasts that picked up a tropical cyclone on the other side of the Pacific Ocean from Mexico. Here’s the forecast: Energy at the center of that circulation, or at least beyond Mexico, could impact the Gulf of Mexico, perhaps developing the system we have been tracking for a long time. If you look at what we’ve got, there’s one area of spin that’s gotten a lot of attention. Of course, there is a lot of storm activity in the Bay of Campeche in the southwestern part of the bay. It is still a tropical cyclone, still located in the Central American ring basin. From the beginning of hurricane season to the end of hurricane season, these storms are circling Central America, and we get a cycle of energy. They are also joining in to give us the chance of tropical nature. The two systems our predictions left the United States initially indicated systems moving out of the Caribbean, but are now more focused on the Gulf Coast. Here’s what we’re sure of. This is the first plume of tropical humidity that we have observed over and over again over the past few days. That’s the chance of rain Thursday through Friday. But now, back to the forecast, we had a pretty strong storm last week, and now we have another potentially strong storm forming again. But as we move through the weekend and into next week, we could see some pretty strong conditions by the time we get into Florida by the middle of next week. But look, it’s staying pretty south of us. Weather forecast outside Europe. Our circulars are still being picked up here. And it is most consistent with maintaining a wide circulation around the western Gulf of Mexico. But that gush of moisture gives us the chance of rain. Thursday, Friday. There’s a long narrow area of low pressure right now that’s probably moving a little closer to the coast, but we’re not really seeing the strong effects of a system that’s been pretty stable for the past few days. So if you actually focus on the rain forecast, it’s likely that there will be some rain along the coast, but not much. Back to the North Shore. The forecast remains uncertain, but there is increasing confidence that the first rain will arrive on Thursday. On Friday, you’ll know the forecast for the high right away. Gain more confidence in your system
