Fall is the time to go back to school and work on books, but bravo! Vail believes everyone can learn something new during Music Education Month, which begins in October. Bravo! Vail offers free and low-cost events and collaborative learning opportunities to celebrate all the ways you can incorporate music into your life.
Most people think of Bravo! Vail is a concert series that brings together world-class orchestras throughout the summer. But the nearly 40-year-old nonprofit has expanded its efforts in music education over the past two decades with programs such as the Music Makers Haciendo Música program, which hosts after-school classes for violin, piano, and youth ensembles. Bravo! Beyond the music box, Vail aims to reach everyone from preschoolers to seniors, partnering with partners ranging from libraries to the University of Colorado Boulder.
“Bravo! Vail is first and foremost a community organization, and we exist thanks to the support of our community and partner organizations. We are very fortunate to have established an awareness of not only what we do, but also how we can complement and participate more fully with our colleagues in education, the arts, health and science. We are dedicated to elevating our organization,” Pagan-Lower said.

Bravo! Vail invited the Core String Quartet to perform at the beginning of the month. The Core String Quartet is a graduate student string quartet at the University of Boulder that has performed in concert at the Golden Eagle Senior Center in Eagle, Berry Creek Middle School, Battle Mountain High School, and before students and the public at Colorado Mountain College. Monthly events include Story Hour with music at Bookworm of Edwards and Vail Valley Unbound, a progressive kindergarten through fifth-grade school in Edwards.

“One of the events we are very excited to introduce for the first time this year is the Adult Musician Co-op, which will be held at the Vail Public Library on October 29th at 6pm. Whether you’re an adult looking to learn a musical instrument, or just want to play as a hobby, this event is for you. We’re bringing together adults who can learn, learn and play music,” Pagan-Lower said.

“Alpine Arts Center’s Cocktail and Canvas collaboration introduces us to worlds we didn’t even know existed within us,” Pagan-Lower said.
