BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Races in Khan teamed up with Delta Zeta Tau Fraternity, Youth 2 Leaders and Spanish Radio Group to host CulturaFest at Beach Park on Saturday night.
As Hispanic Heritage Month continues through Oct. 15, event attendees enjoyed live Hispanic music, authentic food, and the opportunity to learn more about the culture, and hundreds were entertained at the free event.
“We are here to celebrate our roots. We are here to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, and ultimately the Hispanic We’re here to celebrate a county that does a very good job of representing its culture. But let me add the cherry on top: We’re here to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. We need to, and that’s why we’re here.
Eyewitness News spoke with the president and CEO of the Youth 2 Leaders Education Foundation, who explained the importance of Saturday’s event.
Gabriel Adam said, “Y2L receives the majority of our revenue into our scholarship programs. For those who don’t know about Y2L, over the past 20 years we have been able to support our students from low-income households to modern households, and “We are helping students advance to higher education.” We educate by providing scholarships, free college camps, and FAFFA workshops, and it’s a very fulfilling movement here in the community, especially in the Hispanic community. ”
The cultural festival was free and open to the public.
According to officials, $11,000 was raised during the first Cultura Fest, which was donated to the Youth 2 Leader Educational Foundation. In June 2024, Races of Caen was able to donate $1,000 to three local youth.
