Mariah Carey indulged in old Hollywood glamor while performing at the American Music Awards 50th Anniversary Special in Los Angeles on Sunday. The legendary artist, who has won 10 AMAs, sang a medley of hit songs from his 10th album, “Mimi’s Liberation,” which will celebrate its 20th anniversary in 2025.

For the occasion, Carey chose a strapless Schiaparelli dress that featured a draped bodice and floor-length train. The fitted bustier of her frock, made of ecru satin and black velvet, is crafted with a half-moon neckline. Diamond-encrusted jewelry including statement necklaces, earrings, and bracelets completed her look.
The singer wore her honey blonde hair in waves with side bangs, and her makeup consisted of bronze eyeshadow, coral blush, and a glossy nude lip.

Carey’s current stay in Las Vegas also celebrates “Mimi’s Liberation.” Her ongoing concert series, scheduled to conclude in early 2025, will take place at Dolby Live Theater.
On stage, Carey wore a custom look by Robert Wang, Sophie Couture and Valdrine Sahiti. The latter label created a Swarovski-embellished strapless gown that featured nude mesh, and her gold Sophie Couture frock included a thigh-high slit. Ng designed a pink number for the singer that incorporated a removable pleated skirt.
This year’s American Music Awards will celebrate its 50th anniversary with a special show that will air on CBS and Paramount+ in lieu of an awards ceremony. Cast includes Ray, Stray Kids, Mariah Carey and Gladys Knight, with special appearances from Kate Hudson, Reba McEntire, Carrie Underwood and Jennifer Lopez.
