With the release of iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1 this week, Apple Intelligence is back in the spotlight. But this isn’t the only update that supports iPhone. In fact, the Apple Music app got some great features in a software update. The first is the TikTok sharing integration. Apple Music has offered an Instagram sharing option for a while, but iOS 18.1 brings the integration to TikTok users as well.
If you’re enjoying something on Apple Music and want to share it, tap the TikTok button in the share sheet and the TikTok app will appear. TikTok has three sharing options: videos, photos, and messages.

The video and photo options are very useful because TikTok automatically adds song links to your posts and your followers can hear snippets of the songs you’re sharing. The (Message) option allows you to share the song in your DM with the people you select.
The second cool Apple Music update is for the iPad version of the app. This update takes advantage of the new tab bar design introduced in iPad OS 18. iPadOS 18.1 lets you customize the content that appears in the tab bar at the top of the screen.

You’ll see some default menu options and tap and hold to enter edit mode. For example, you can place playlists there, or place playlist folders as dedicated tab bar items. Apple Music may not have Apple Intelligence features, but it has plenty of useful features to help it stay competitive with the likes of Spotify and YouTube Music.
I personally love the two updates to Apple Music brought by iOS 18.1. Of course, we’d like to see some AI features included, like some of its competitors are working on, but slowly and surely Apple Music is becoming an attractive alternative to some of the big music streaming services. .
