Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has revealed why the media wants to speak to 2023 Labor Party (LP) presidential candidate Peter Obi as the voice of the opposition in the country.
Fayose appeared in an interview on Channels Television on Sunday and said that due to the crisis and dysfunction within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), journalists will ignore the party and its 2023 presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar. Ta.
He urged Atiku to backtrack on his presidential ambitions for 2027.
The former governor also ruled out the possibility of PDP defeating the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 elections.
According to him, as it stands now, the PDP is almost non-existent and Peter Obi is the voice of the opposition.
“As I always say, you can defeat the APCs, but how can you defeat them if you don’t have a party again?” he asked.
Fayose further lamented the leadership crisis rocking the PDP.
According to him, “When we complain about APC and we have no party, you can say you will do this and that, but now when Obi is the mouthpiece of the opposition.
“The media will call Obi more than they will call the PDP and when the Public Relations Secretary is suspending people and vice versa. So where is the party?”
