Former National Publicity Secretary of the defunct New Peoples Democratic Party (nPDP), Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, has said President Bola Tinubu is on track to become the most ignorant president in Nigeria’s history.
Eze said this while reacting to an article circulating in the name of Special Assistant to the President on Information Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, titled “Atiku would have left Nigeria in a worse economic situation.”
He maintained that exposing Mr. Atiku Abubakar to contemptuous ridicule in the media will not help the Tinubu administration hide the mess it has caused Nigeria.
In a statement, Eze said it was derogatory for the President to compare his administration to the Obasanjo/Atiku administration.
“It is at least fair for the President’s official spokesperson to admit to Nigerians that the country is not better under the current administration, but is in turmoil,” he said.
“Honestly, Onanuga has derided the futile attempt to justify the shenanigans currently going on in Nigeria caused by Tinubu’s anti-people policies that have reduced Nigeria to the poverty capital of the world.” There is no basis for his rants other than the fact that he wrote them to justify his compensation as a media employee.
“It is unimaginable that Mr. Onanuga decided to lash out at Mr. Atiku because the president has made it difficult for all Nigerians, rich and poor, to have one decent meal a day.
“Today, many Nigerians are dying and the survivors are committing suicide because of one man’s incompetent management.
“The truth is, Atiku and other Nigerians would not have thrown this country into the kind of chaos that Tinubu has thrown this country into. Tinubu is ignorant. He has no plans. The failure of his administration is no surprise to the people.
“Today, this regime is running on debt, but the Obasanjo/Atiku regime was paying off debts to international financial institutions and providing subsidies to some African countries.
“Mr Atiku would not have subscribed to the nepotistic tendencies that have driven the current government, which operates on the idea of putting all important security and economic positions in charge of one region. government.
“The national power grid has begun to collapse, multiple times in a week, plunging entire northern regions into darkness. The south and other parts of the country have been without electricity for weeks.
“More than 30 minors arrested during the #EndBadGovernance protests have been charged with treason for exercising their rights enshrined in the Constitution and other international instruments.
“Only a failed leader like Tinubu would come up with such a frivolous response to the expression of people’s rights.”
