A new list of Nigerian artists whose songs have been streamed 1 billion times around the world has been published on social media.
This list includes 4 male artists and 1 female artist. Male artists include Burna Boy, Rema, Ckay, and Wizkid.
That female artist happens to be Ira Starr. Her song “Rush” is the only track contributing to her total streaming numbers. Other top songs include “Last Last” by Burna Boy, “Essence” by Wizkid, “Love Nwantiti” by Ckay and “calm down” by Rema.
Rema recently held a concert in Benin where his song “Calm Down” reached 1 billion streams.

The song charted in several territories including Switzerland, Ireland, and the United Kingdom, peaking at number 24, and earned the singer a nomination for Best African Music Performance at the 66th Grammy Awards.
Meanwhile, Burna rose to stardom in 2012 with the release of the lead single “Like to Party” from her debut studio album LIFE (2013). As in 2017, Burna Boy signed with Atlantic Records in the US and released his third studio album, Outside, in 2018.
Wizkid, who started his career at the age of 11, came into the limelight in 2011 with the release of the lead single “Hola At Your Boy” from his debut studio album “Superstar”.
