The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has reported a huge revenue of N11.5 billion between February and March 2023 from the sale of nomination and expression of interest forms, along with levies and dues from candidates and office holders.
Out of this sum, 7.9 billion naira was allocated to support various campaign activities for state assemblies, national conventions and the 2023 general elections.
The party’s audited financial statements submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in accordance with the provisions of the Electoral Act provide a detailed breakdown.
According to Vanguard, a large portion of the company’s income came from sales of office papers for the president, senators, congressmen, and congressmen.
In terms of expenditure, 3.1 billion naira was disbursed to state assemblies and national conventions, while 1.7 billion naira was disbursed to states and candidates involved in elections.
The additional expenditure includes 72.07 million Naira for allowances for party agents, 233.4 million Naira for training, workshops and lectures, and 166.5 million Naira for personnel expenses. Hiring buses for campaign logistics cost N27.7 million.
The report also shows that a total of N693 million was paid for travel expenses, including aircraft charters, while N370 million was paid for door-to-door activities.
The report, prepared by PDP Finance Director Ismaila Yunusa Alkali and signed by Acting National Chairman Umar Damagum, details the party’s income and expenditure for the period.
