The leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, has described the party’s national chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje and Tony Okocha, as true enemies of democracy.
He urged Okocha, who was re-elected as party chairman at the convention, to stay away from the concerns of Rivers APC, describing him as a peep rabbit and an obstructionist.
Eze said Ganduje, Okocha and others he described as anti-democratic forces must be stopped and ousted immediately.
He also praised the court’s decision to invalidate the party convention.
Naija News reports that senior Rivers State officials in Port Harcourt have nullified the local government and state assembly organized by the Okocha-led faction of the APC in Rivers State.
Mr. Eze said while this was a victory for democracy, it was also a major setback for the depredations of undemocratic forces in the state allegedly led by Wike.
According to Eze, the purported meeting was held in bad faith as a successor to the Rivers APC State Executive Committee led by Chief Emeka Beke, whose term is still remaining and due to the lapse of time. It is still scheduled to end.
The APC chief said in a statement that the judgment has shamed Ganduje, Okocha and other undemocratic hirelings for trying to impose even one member on the Rivers APC.
“The court’s decision is a watershed and landmark decision, which also enriches the jurisprudence of this country and further reaffirms that the courts are bastions of justice for ordinary people,” he said. said.
“This issue has become a serious threat to the presence and party politics of the APC in Rivers State and Nigeria in general as some traitors, unreasonable persons and money men have attempted to hijack the APC machinery in the state to advance their selfish interests. It had a far-reaching impact.
“With this decision, the judiciary proves once again that justice does not always have to be compromised by bags of money or seen as bought by the highest bidder.
“The judgment of the High Court effectively upholds the fundamental rights of genuine APC members in Rivers State under the leadership of Emeka Beke, while at the same time denying the power and mediocrity that Wike and his new errand motor boys were defending. ”, Tony Okocha
“This judgment is equally important to democrats and APC supporters who believe in the supremacy of internal democracy over the autocratic moves of self-interested and tyrannical politicians who seek to control the entire party structure for personal aggrandizement. This is an important victory.”
“The judgment of the court reaffirms the importance and sanctity of the rule of law and urges Ganduje, Wike, Okocha and their cronies that the order of the court is sacrosanct and therefore the country This sends a strong message that you must comply.
“At this point, I advise Ganduje to seek ways to revive his decaying and scandalous political fortunes, restore APC power in Kano and bring peace to the people of Rivers State.
“Ganduje is one of the major obstacles to the progress of the APC and indeed poses a threat to democracy and the rule of law in Nigeria.
“Mr Ganduje is seeking a court hearing on the matter just to ensure that the structure of the APC in Rivers State is formally handed over to the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, who also claims to be the leader of the PDP in Rivers State. He disobeyed every order.”
