Plans to elect former Senate President David Mark as National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) seem to be losing momentum, according to reports.
Sources who spoke to The Nation revealed that Mark’s supporters are pushing him as a credible consensus candidate from all factions within the party to restore the former ruling party’s fortunes. did.
Within the party, some state governors elected on the platform of the PDP are taking the lead in removing the party’s acting national chairman, Umar Damagum, and replacing him with a substantive chairman. Movement is underway.
Mark is a retired brigadier general and one of the people tipped off to take the job.
