The Firelands Symphony Orchestra (FSO) has announced changes for the 2024-25 season.
Due to construction delays at Sandusky State Theater, Firelands Symphony Orchestra has relocated all performances for the 2024-25 season to the Sawmill Creek Convention Center, 400 Sawmill Creek Drive in Huron, according to a news release.
The Firelands Symphony Orchestra remains dedicated to providing the same high-quality musical entertainment it has for many years, the release states.
“We are committed to our mission of enriching lives through music,” Firelands Symphony Orchestra Executive Director Ron Brooker said in a release. “We appreciate the familiarity of our patrons and musicians with the Sawmill venue, and thank you for your patience as we look forward to our return to Sandusky State Theater.”
While most season concert program content and guest artists will not be affected by venue changes, some adjustments will need to be made to accommodate the following:
• The Texas Tenors performance, originally scheduled for Feb. 8, has been postponed to a future season at Sandusky State Theatre. The concert, a Valentine’s Day-themed orchestral concert called “Love in the Air,” will be held at Sawmill Creek on February 15th at 7:30 p.m. This concert will focus on Firelands Symphony Orchestra soloists and feature guest vocalist Natalie Green.
• “Beethoven’s Ninth” concert with orchestra and chorale has been rescheduled at Sawmill from March 8 to March 22 at 7:30 p.m. There are no changes to the concert program.
• The “This is Home” concert on May 24 at 7:30 p.m. will be titled “Made in America.” The concert will feature a variety of works by American composers, including renowned violinist Andrés Cardenes, who will perform the Barber Violin Concerto.
Other than the venue, all other concerts remain unchanged, according to the release.
From now on, all orchestra concerts will be general admission.
General admission and tickets will be available for purchase starting October 10th.
Tickets will be $35 for adults ($40 for holiday pops) and $5 for student tickets, according to the release.
Those who have already purchased a season subscription will have their tickets automatically converted to general admission tickets for the new concert venue and dates, the release states.
Customers will continue to receive discounted prices on ticket packages, according to the release.
If you choose to continue your subscription for this season, the Firelands Symphony Orchestra will retain the seats assigned to you this year at Sandusky State Theater until its return, the release states.
If you would like to maintain your subscription for this season and retain your seat reservations for next season at Sandusky State Theatre, you do not need to contact Firelands Symphony Orchestra, the release states.
