The 2023 All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Adamawa State, Aishatu Ahmed, popularly known as Binani, has refuted recent speculations about his defection from the party.
Binani, who previously ran for governorship while serving as senator for Adamawa Central Zone, reiterated her commitment to the APC, insisting that no external pressure could force her to leave the party.
At an event organized by one of her advocacy groups in Yola on Sunday, Binani addressed rumors that she and her supporters had quit APC.
Speaking at the inauguration of the leadership of the advocacy group titled Binani Only Gladiators, through her representative Mijinyawa Kgama, the politician said: We are founding members of the APC and no force, not even Jupiter, can force us to abandon the APC. ”
Mr Binani thanked his supporters for their unwavering dedication, who performed admirably against incumbent governor Ahmadu Fintiri despite narrowly losing the 2023 elections.
In his comments, Umar Mustafa, a prominent politician and Binani ally, emphasized the importance of gladiator groups in promoting unity among Adamawa’s diverse ethnic communities.
He said the group would serve as an important platform to establish a strong coalition in preparation for the 2027 general elections with the aim of taking back Adamawa State from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party.
Founder and State Coordinator of the Gladiators Group, Himaga Yairsu, reiterated his determination to ensure the success of the APC in the 2027 elections and said Binani would focus on poverty alleviation and empowerment of the underprivileged. praised his political vision.
During this event, key executives of the Binani-Only Gladiators were inducted, among others Maryam Waziri was appointed as secretary and Rhoda Nuhu was appointed as female leader.
