Peoples Democratic Governors Forum (PDP-GF) Chairman Bala Mohammed has made it clear that reconciliation is the only topic on the agenda of the party stakeholders meeting.
According to a Naija News report, the Bauchi State governor said a stakeholder meeting was convened to further smooth relations between party leaders following last week’s National Working Committee (NWC) crisis.
Bala Mohammed made this known late on Tuesday in his opening remarks at the expanded meeting of the PDP-GF with the Board of Directors (BoT), National Working Committee (NWC), former governors, among others.
“This is a meeting of the PDP. This is not a governors’ meeting or a caucus, but a meeting of stakeholders of the PDP,” Muhammad said.
“This is a single-agenda meeting. As you can see, we are united today under the leadership of Amb. Umar Damagum, we are here to discuss issues.
“We will resist any attempt to turn Nigeria into a one-party state. We will draw on our experience since 1999 to provide an alternative platform for Nigerians.”
According to Vanguard, only five of the party’s 13 governors attended the meeting at the time of filing this report. They were Bala Mohammed (Bauchi), Dauda Lawal (Zamfara), Siminalai Hubala (Rivers), Caleb Muftwane (Plateau) and Ademola Adeleke (Osun).
