SIMPSONVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) – Greenville Country Music Festival has partnered with United Way to help the community after the tragedy of Hurricane Helen.
“Damage to the venue was minimal, but our teams have been working tirelessly to get the festival back on track,” festival organizers said. “But this year it’s about more than the music.”
United Way will be collecting needed donations at a tent located just outside the main entrance to GVL Fest. If you would like to help us, we would appreciate the following:
Canned food (vegetables, fruits, soups, meats) *Lunches with pop-top lids preferred (pasta, rice, cereal) Peanut butter and protein bars Bottled water and sports drinks Diapers, wipes, formula Hygiene products (soap, toothpaste, Feminine hygiene products) First aid supplies (bandages, painkillers) Cleaning supplies (disinfecting wipes, garbage bags)
Organizers say Bud Light will donate $2 for every Bud Light sold during the festival.
Starting Friday, concertgoers will have the opportunity to make a personal donation when purchasing tickets online.
“Every donation, regardless of size, will help people rebuild their lives,” organizers said. “Thank you for standing with us and making a difference during this difficult time. Together we can make an impact, enjoy music, and support those in need.”
