Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has expressed support for the government of President Bola Tinubu, saying it is making great efforts to improve the conditions of Nigerians.
Despite recognizing the economic hardships currently facing his people, Fayose remains optimistic that things will turn around soon.
In his recent remarks, Fayose acknowledged the challenges faced by many Nigerians, but stressed that the Tinubu administration is committed to implementing policies to improve the economic situation.
Fayose’s comments come at a time when many citizens are facing rising costs of living and economic uncertainty.
The former governor said on Channels TV’s Sunday Politics: “It hasn’t been very easy. That’s the truth for Nigerians, but obviously I think this government has given us the best, but we still have to give our best.” “There is,” he said.
“If you say you need time, people will start to question how much time you need. Yes, I agree that it hasn't been that easy for Nigerians, but if you say you need some time, I know things can get better over time. That’s all I can say.”
However, he noted that the country’s current situation is caused by long-term damage to the economy and cannot be repaired overnight.
Fayose praised the current governor, Biodun Oyebazi, for his governance in his home state of Ekiti, where he previously ruled for two terms.
He said it was unfair to deny credit to the governor even though he is a member of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Oyebanji is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
“Today, I am a member of PDP and the governor is a member of APC, but the point of the meeting is that I am the leader of Ekiti.
“As I said earlier, we either die because we lied or we told the truth. Governor Oyebunji did a very good job,” Fayose said.
He maintained that only a miracle can prevent Governor Oyebunji from winning the election and completing his second term in office in 2026.
“I don’t see any miracle that will defeat him unless something changes between now and the election.
“Forget about the party, let’s be realistic. PDP is in a terrible crisis in Ekiti as well. I don’t care who comes here and denies that I don’t care,” he said. Said.
He said the governor united all leaders in the state regardless of political leanings.
