The newly appointed Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Yusuf Abdullahi Attah, has promised to help the All Progressives Congress (APC) win back Kano State in the 2027 elections.
Mr. Attah made these remarks during his first visit to Mr. Kano after his appointment to the Federal Executive Council.
In a conversation with journalists, Attah emphasized the political nature of his appointment.
“My appointment was mainly for political reasons. APC lost Kano state and now we will get it back. The main issue is in Kano Central and that is my home base. ” he said.
He emphasized his commitment to grassroots activities, saying: We will make the necessary efforts to ensure that APC regains control of Kano State by 2027. ”
Mr. Attah said that although he would fulfill his duties at the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, he would continue to focus on the political situation in Kano City.
“While I intend to carry out my ministerial duties with zeal, I intend to visit Kano State on a weekly basis to support efforts aimed at securing the state for the APC,” he added.
The minister thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the appointment, saying it was an opportunity not only for himself but for Kano and the entire people of Nigeria.
He assured the President that Kano would be taken back by the APC in 2027, and concluded with confidence: “This is my promise to the President.”
