Halima Hassan, the mother of the late Big Brother Naija star, Rico Swaby, has opened up about how she is coping with the emotional burden of losing her son at the cold hands of death.
It would be recalled that the reality star passed away on October 13, 2022, days after being involved in a tragic road accident and was buried in Lagos on October 20 of the same year.
In a recent interview with media personality, Chude Jideonwo, Mrs. Hassan opened up about her sadness and revealed that she still converses with Rico’s photo that hangs in her home, as if he were there. He added that they share their daily lives.
Hassan said the daily ritual brings her comfort and helps her cope with the loss. She said she made an appointment with Rico after he was taken off life support.
“When he passed away, the reason why I wanted to be with him in that moment was because I said to him, ‘The music you couldn’t bring out, I’m going to help you bring it out.’ I’ll do the rest of the work for you, I’m not going to let your efforts go to waste like this,'' she said.
“I still have pictures of Rico all over my house. Every time I look at him, I smile and say, ‘Rico, it’s another day, I’m going out today,’ and I talk to the pictures and tell them what I’m going to do that day.” I’ll let you know and then I’ll leave. . I pray every morning. Please tell God to give me the courage to move forward in my life. ”
