Amidst the internal turmoil within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in a show of unwavering loyalty, Senator Austin Akobundu, representing Abia Central Senatorial District, has declared his commitment to the party.
Speaking to reporters in Aba, Abia State, Senator Akobundu said much of his political career has been with the PDP and stressed that he would not consider leaving the party.
His remarks came at a time when the PDP is navigating through serious internal conflicts that have pitted factions within the party against each other on various issues.
Senator Akobundu, who also served as the National Organizing Secretary of the PDP, reassured party members and supporters of his continued presence and support.
He expressed his strong determination to actively contribute to solving the party’s challenges and preparing for future election campaigns.
he said: The party has done a lot for me. I don’t know about anyone else. Now it’s time to work for the party. I cannot abandon PDP when the party needs me.
“Now is the time to give back to the party. I have no intention of leaving the PDP. I don’t care even if I am the only one standing. You know my training and where I am from I know who came. I will fight for PDP and stand with the party.”
