Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike has said he has no regrets in supporting President Bola Tinubu in the 2023 general elections.
Naija News recalls that Wike ruled Rivers State for eight years under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) before being appointed as minister.
Wike thanked President Tinubu for believing in him at a thanksgiving ceremony by the PDP in Ahoada East and West Local Government Areas of Ochigba State.
According to the FCT Minister, he was threatened for supporting Tinubu before the presidential election, adding that he would do the same if given the opportunity.
He said, “I have no regrets, and I have not apologized. Given the opportunity, I would do the same.”
Meanwhile, Wike has openly admitted that he was the mastermind behind the removal of Uche Secondus as the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Wike said on Thursday that Secondus wanted his cousin Tere Ikuru to become the next Rivers State governor against the will of the people and did not support the candidacy of Siminalai Hubara.
The FCT Minister said Mr Secondus was removed from office due to his actions.
Naija News reports that Mr Wike made this revelation while speaking at the Ahoada East and Ahoada West PDP year-end thanksgiving held in Ochigba, Ahoada East Local Government Area of Rivers State.
He also criticized former Rivers State Governor Celestine Omehia and Governor Hubara for their recent comments during the commissioning of projects in Rivers State.
Mr Wike questioned the new collaboration between the former PDP chairman and Governor Tomihara while Mr Secondus allegedly labeled him an “enemy of the state”.
