Bush, who spoke to BBC Radio 4’s Emma Barnett on Today this morning, was on the show to talk about a new short film he had made in aid of the charity War Child, but recently said he had not been in the studio. I don’t have any, but I’ve been thinking about what new music would be like.
And it may come sooner than you think.
“I have a lot of ideas,” she said, admitting she is “enthusiastic” to begin the recording process. “It’s been a long time, but I’m really looking forward to getting back into that creative space.”
Sure, it’s been a long time, but just two years ago, President Bush announced that his 1985 classic “Run Up That Hill” would be used in the fourth season of Netflix’s blockbuster hit “Stranger Things.” It famously gained new fans of an entire generation when it was released.
Integral to Max Mayfield’s (Sadie Sink) character arc, Stranger Things helped introduce Running Up That Hill and Kate herself to a whole new generation. The influx of attention finally propelled “Running Up That Hill” to No. 1 on the Official Singles Chart in June, tripling the Official Chart record in the process.
‘Running Up That Hill’, written and produced entirely by Bush herself, is the lead single from her fifth album and masterpiece, ‘Hounds Of Love’, and is on the UK’s Official Song of the Year list for 2022.・I also had the honor of being selected as The Summer. It’s also one of the Official Top 40 Biggest Songs of 2022 as a whole.
