Gaga dances, fights and runs away from her monstrous self in video for maximalist pop track
Lady Gaga paired her dark electro-pop song “Disease” with an equally menacing music video on Tuesday night.
The four-and-a-half minute visual sees Gaga confronting a creepy version of herself. That includes an all-leather Gaga with bloodshot eyes, towering heels, a zippered mask, and long steel-studded nails. Throughout this chaotic video, set on a quiet residential street in the suburbs, the stars dodge, fight, embrace, and run away from anthropomorphic terror.
Gaga gave insight into her thought process behind the video on her Instagram Story earlier Tuesday. “I think a lot about my relationship with my own inner demons,” she wrote. “It has never been easy for me to face how I am seduced by chaos and confusion. I become claustrophobic. It’s about facing yourself and your inner darkness, and recognizing that sometimes you can’t overcome or escape the fearful parts of yourself.”
She continued: “I dance, I transform, I run, I purge. I come back to myself again and again. This union is ultimately beautiful to me because it is mine and I Because I learned to deal with it.”

The musician and actress added that she is “the conductor of my own symphony,” adding, “No matter how scary the question, the answer lies within me. The essence of what makes me who I am.” An inseparable part of me. I am who I am, and I am willing to take on the challenge.”
“Disease” is the first single from Gaga’s upcoming seventh studio album (dubbed LG7, according to a press release), and the follow-up to 2020’s Chromatica. It will be. In August, he collaborated with Bruno Mars and released “Die With a Smile.” The duet was a commercial success, debuting at number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100.
