In the early hours of Saturday morning, the Lagos State Environmental Response Team raided a club in Cubana in the early hours of the morning and removed the plates of 28 illegally parked cars.
Tokunbo Wahab, the state secretary for environment and water resources, announced on microblogging platform X that action will be taken against the owners of the vehicles whose plates have been confiscated.
The Commissioner shared the video and said they were illegally parking and causing traffic obstruction.
The statement said 28 license plates of “offending vehicles” were seized and the owners would be prosecuted in court.
“Lagos State Environment and Security Team carried out a night enforcement operation at about 1am today during which the number plate of the vehicle was illegally parked in front of Cubana Nightclub, Sobo Arobiodu Road, GRA Ikeja, was removed and confiscated,” the statement said.
“All number plates of the 28 vehicles that violated Lagos State traffic regulations at the scene have been removed. All owners of the violating vehicles will be prosecuted in court.”
