Former Edo State Governor, Senator Adams Oshiomhole has criticized the incumbent Governor Godwin Obaseki, labeling his term as a failure, saying that Mr Obaseki’s eight years in office included the just concluded gubernatorial election. He argued that there was nothing to justify supporting the candidate he had endorsed.
In an interview with ARISE NEWS on Sunday, Oshiomhole expressed skepticism about Obaseki’s influence on voters, saying the governor had effectively “crossed bridges” with those who once supported him. Ta.
This relationship breakdown, he argued, has left Mr. Obaseki a “lone man” in politics, isolated from the very voters he needs to rally behind his chosen successor.
The senator said, “God knows that Obaseki has misruled the country, deceived the people and imprisoned innocent women. He has done many terrible things that no God-fearing person would ever do to his own people.” And he’s proud.” They say, “I’m going to destroy you, I’m going to destroy you.” Every minute he’ll say, “I’m the chief security officer.” In the process, he forgot that these powers belong to the people and that sovereignty belongs to the people. They delegate and trust you to do good for them.
“Instead, you used your power to blackmail and made promises you would never keep, so there was nothing. And even the royal fathers were fighting him. He fought anyone, if you didn’t want him to.” For Obaseki, looking for problems and looking for his problems, crushing people was his way of life. Therefore, we have now consigned him to the dustbin of political history. I’m very happy.
“As a human being he is my friend, but as a governor he was a failure,” he added.
Oshiomhole went on to say, “You can reasonably expect that we defeated Obaseki and Asue Ighodaro. There was nothing in Obaseki’s performance or Asue’s qualifications that would make them win the election.” However, I have previously said on this channel that Asue is not eligible for election. Now, what are the facts? Obaseki crossed the river on my back as the outgoing governor in 2016. He is like the proverbial blind man who didn’t touch the water, so he couldn’t understand what it took to become a governor.
“In 2020, there was once again a crisis within the APC, and Mr. Obaseki once again had the support of some factions within the APC. The governor left Port Harcourt” Benin, and the REC they were protesting against, the same REC was in Benin. Once again, Obaseki rode on the back of Wike and the elements, which along with some elements of the APC became known as the PDP Legacy Group. They took him across the river a second time without his feet touching the water. And twice he was described as an iron man.
“And in turn, he burned all the cables, split the PDP in two, the legacy PDP left him, Wike left him, I left him, his lieutenants left him, so he Now he was a lonely man and now he had to cross the river on his own, but in the process he found himself stuck in the river. He himself predicted that if he lost, the election would be do or die. Now that Edokko has done it, he is dead.”
