Chairman of the African Action Congress (AAC) in Oyo State, Kayode Babayomi, has said Governor Seyi Makinde is yet to provide good governance to the people of the state.
Kayode Babayomi has accused Governor Makinde of misleading Oyo residents in his social media posts. He has been called the governor with the best social media package in the country.
He said this in an interview with News Central on Monday. The AAC president criticized the current state of education, agriculture and infrastructure in the state.
“Governor Makinde’s administration has been really bad. To judge him is as if we don’t want to get into the real issues. So what should we be proud of? We have nothing.
“All we see is the social media package. But we call him the social media governor, the most packaged governor in all of Nigeria. Is it agriculture? Is it education? I would like to say that Oyo State should have surplus food because Oyo State has vast land,” Babayomi said.
He explained that students and teachers are learning and teaching in poor conditions across the state. He also accused Governor Makinde of not being serious about infrastructure development plans.
Babayomi maintained that the people of Oyo State know that the governor is not practicing good governance.
“When we look at the education sector, we see nothing. We still have dilapidated buildings. Teachers don’t have classrooms. Students are still facing north and west. There are three classes. Students still use the classrooms, but they are in disrepair.
“When it comes to roads and infrastructure, we have not seen anything. All we have seen about roads is good roads, grading of the roads that were there before. There are several roads that have undergone construction twice in just five years of the administration.
“All we are seeing is that he goes on social media and people start praising him. The good people of Oyo State are putting Makinde on social media where he has nothing to show the people. “I see it as just a pre-packaged governor,” he added.
