More than 960 members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) led by party chairman Alhaji Baba Sabiu in Dara Local Government Area have defected to the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) amid significant political changes in Kano State. .
The defection took place ahead of local government elections scheduled for October 26.
The defectors, including a former councilor from Ward 12 in Dara Local Government Area, cited the need for progressive change as their reason for joining the NNPP.
